Eisenhower: This Piece of Ground

Eisenhower: This Piece of Ground
“A perfectly cast John Rubinstein, brings our 34th president back to life in a drama filled with timely political lessons from a leader who strove to put country over party.” - Los Angeles Times
Tony Award winner John Rubinstein (Pippin, Children of a Lesser God) stars as President Dwight D. Eisenhower in Eisenhower: This Piece of Ground, a new American play by Richard Hellesen and directed by Peter Ellenstein. Eisenhower: This Piece of Ground is a candid and fascinating fictional eavesdropping on President Dwight D. Eisenhower at his Gettysburg, Pennsylvania farm. Experience this new critically acclaimed work in the town that Eisenhower called home, and in the theater that he regularly attended!
As part of the Majestic Theater's centennial season, we honor our history and close association with one of the most consequential figures of the 20th century. Eisenhower: This Piece of Ground is adapted from a vast array of General Eisenhower's memoirs, speeches, and letters, and is set just a mile away in Eisenhower's Gettysburg farm.

Opening Night Dinner: (Separate Admission, seating limited) Join the creative team from "Eisenhower: This Piece of Ground" as well as special guests, Susan Eisenhower (Expert in Residence, Eisenhower Institute) and Dr. Michael Birkner (Professor of History at Gettysburg College and esteemed Eisenhower Scholar) for an elegant pre-show dinner in the Majestic Theater's Gold Patron's Lounge. Jason Suski (Executive Chef at Create at 48) will create a special menu based on local, seasonal ingredients. Creative team members include Richard Hellesen (Playwright), Peter Ellenstein (Director), and Michael Deegan (Scenic Designer). This exclusive event promises to be informative and inspiring. Dinner served at 6PM.
